Sales manager Jukka Väyrynen

Jukka Väyrynen has been Fluent’s sales manager roughly for a year now, and he thinks that the most important thing around customer bonds is face to face meetings: Conversations are often more productive than in remote meetings and mutual understanding and trust increase.

When Jukka Väyrynen started as Fluent’s sales manager in May of 2022 there was a need to strengthen especially customer interface – Fluent needed a person who was ready to travel and had the desire to meet customers face to face all around Finland.

Jukka Väyrynen already had years of experience of similar tasks elsewhere, so job description was somewhat familiar to him.

“In the beginning the biggest challenge for me was the totally new field of industry. I knew there was a lot to learn. Sure, I was an active user of Fluent Outdoors already in my leisure time but everything else was new”, Jukka Väyrynen recalls.

Meeting customers face to face is important since conversations held this way are much more productive than similar conversations taking place in Teams for example.

During the last year Jukka has met face to face almost every customer Fluent has and discussed Fluent’s services with them. Active customer acquisition has also borne fruit because Fluent’s gotten eight new customers during last year.

There has been a discussion with Fluent’s current customers about the good and bad features of the service as well as development ideas.

“Meeting customers face to face is important since conversations held this way are much more productive than similar conversations taking place in Teams for example. These meetings also strengthen customer bonds and often make discussions more natural. Feedback and improvement ideas are often given with a lower threshold”, Jukka Väyrynen points out.

“I believe that the meetings make our customers feel that they’re cared for – that we’re not just that distant partner out there somewhere.”

As a sales manager Jukka feels that well-working communication with software developers is also important. Jukka is the product owner of Fluent Outdoors, which means he’s in key position in bringing our customers wishes to the daylight.

“Then they can figure things out their way. I think Fluent’s work community is open and modern as it is – unnecessary hierarchy has been left out which works well for me.”

Next Fluent’s sales continue the work that has already begun and aims toward global market.

“This year we map global interest in sports and travel fields and look where that leads”, Jukka wraps up.
