Hi there! I’m Anni Tirkkonen, and I started my business administration internship at Fluent Progress in May. I’m a third-year BBA student at Karelia University of Applied Sciences, where I specialize through the Business Academy.
In the Business Academy we’ve established our own student-run cooperative through which we’ve carried out various projects and developed valuable teamwork, entrepreneurial, and working life skills. These projects also help us raise funds for our international learning camp, where we’ll visit another Team Academy abroad.
I was especially impressed by Fluent’s work culture, where employee satisfaction is one of the company’s core values.
One of our projects was the “Get a Job” career and recruitment event, where students and companies could meet to discuss opportunities like internships or thesis collaboration. At the event, I had the chance to talk with Mikko Hassinen and Jarno Tukiainen from Fluent Progress, who were there to present the company. I was especially impressed by Fluent’s work culture, where employee satisfaction is not only stated on their website but also clearly reflected in their conversations and the dynamic between team members.
Through Business Academy, I’ve had the opportunity to work on various projects in sales, marketing, and project management, so it was hard to say right away which specific tasks I was most interested in. Eventually, we agreed that I would join Fluent’s Customer Relations team, where I’ll get hands-on experience in everything from sales and marketing to customer service.
Both the IT and maintenance industries are entirely new to me, so in addition to business tasks, I’m excited to learn more about these fields. During my internship, I also hope to gain more knowledge about sales processes, search engine optimization, and marketing campaign planning.

My previous studies in English and translation at the University of Eastern Finland have proven useful, as English is our main working language here at Fluent.
I’ve felt very welcome at Fluent Progress from the start, and I’m excited about what’s to come during this internship!
